## Why is it free?
MarkLayer exists to make webpage annotation accessible to everyone. Infrastructure runs on Cloudflare's low-cost edge services; the source code is open source on GitHub. There is no business model layered on top of users, and there is no plan to add one.

MarkLayer is open source. You can fork the repo, deploy on your own Cloudflare account, and run it as your private tool with no vendor dependency.
